Winery Keburia has officially opened in the picturesque Kakheti, region of Georgia, specifically in the charming village of Kachreti, just last year. This year marks our second vintage, and we couldn’t be more excited about the journey that lies ahead.
Our inspiration for venturing into the world of wine has deep roots in our family history. Our grandfather was a man who had an unwavering love and admiration for Georgian wine and winemaking. While living in Abkhazia, he produced only a modest quantity of wine, but it held a special place in his heart. And then the war happened, he became an IDP and he always held onto this longing for his little vineyard in Abkhazia.
Our winery here in Kachreti is, in many ways, a homage to him. Every bottle of wine we produce carries with it the Abkhazian nostalgia that he held so dearly. It’s a way for us to remember and honor him through the timeless art of winemaking.
We as a family are deeply inspired by the rich history of Georgian wine itself, which boasts an astonishing 8000 vintages. Georgian wine has a profound significance to our country and our people. It’s not just a beverage; it’s a cultural treasure. We wanted to share this prolific taste and cultural meaning with the wider world. It’s this passion and commitment that drove us to establish this winery.
We look forward to hosting wine enthusiasts and sharing our passion for this remarkable craft and the story behind it. It’s not just about wine; it’s about preserving tradition, celebrating history, and creating lasting memories for our guests.
In addition to our commitment to tradition and heritage, we are also dedicated to staying up-to-date with the latest advancements and technologies in winemaking. While we hold the history of Georgian winemaking close to our hearts, we recognize the importance of innovation and continuous improvement.
Our winery is not only a place where we pay tribute to the past but also a space where we embrace the future of winemaking. We invest in research and development, constantly seeking new findings and adopting modern techniques that enhance the quality and sustainability of our wines.
By staying at the forefront of winemaking practices, we aim to create wines that not only honor our cultural roots but also satisfy the evolving tastes and expectations of wine enthusiasts worldwide. So, when you visit our winery, you’ll not only experience the timeless charm of Georgian winemaking but also witness our commitment to innovation and progress in the industry.
